摘要

The use of intelligence to direct military operations has taken on a new importance as forces face an increasingly diverse range of missions and threats, argues Dave Sloggett. Military forces are re-quired today to operate across a range of missions, showing agility and flexibility in their ability to configure forces to undertake operations span- ning humanitarian relief, peacekeeping and peace enforcement activities through to varying levels of high intensity warfare. To cover such a range of missions, emerging military doctrine is placing greater emphasis on 'intelligence-led' operations.
