The UK will join Canada and the Netherlands in tapping into the US Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite communications system - the successor to the current Milstar system. The UK is expected to join a US order for Navy Multiband Terminals (NMT) for the Royal Navy and is also considering acquiring Raytheon Secure Mobile Anti-jam Reliable Tactical Terminal (SMART-T) AEHF land terminals.
