The US Army is looking to replace its Interceptor Body Armour (IBA) with a new individual armour system that would increase a soldier's manoeuvrability and flexibility. In that solicitation, the army said it was studying options for a next-generation body armour system that would "reduce weight, improve comfort, facilitate fighting load carriage and improve weight distribution of ballistic and fighting load components".
