The UK Defence Procurement Agency (DPA) has, after protracted negotiations, awarded MAN ERF a contract worth ￡1 billion ($1.9 billion) to supply support vehicles (SVs) for the UK armed forces. These will replace the current tri-service fleet of four-, eight- and 14-tonne cargo vehicles and recovery trucks. The contract covers the supply of 4,851 cargo trucks in 4 x 4, 6 x 6 and 8 x 8 configurations and 314 recovery vehicles in 8 x 8 configurations, 69 recovery trailers and a 20-year support contract.
