Following the cancellation of the Joint Common Missile (JCM), Raytheon has proposed replacing it by modifying the company's future precision surface-launched missile to an air-launched model. Raytheon officials said that with minimal modifications they could make their Non Line of Sight -Launch System (NLOS-LS) Precision Attack Missile (PAM) carry out the same function as was planned for the JCM. However Lockheed Martin, Raytheon's partner in the NLOS-LS and the manufacturer of the JCM, has responded, saying that the two companies' contract on the NLOS-LS explicitly forbids such a move.
