Rolls-Royce North American Technologies, informally known as the LibertyWorks, has emerged from a decade of self-imposed anonymity - outside of classified development circles and a handful of its air-frame customers - intent on doubling its annual USD35 million revenues within the next five years. It aims to do this by supplying novel gas-turbine solutions to meet Pentagon aerospace requirements for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned combat air vehicles (UCAVs) and long range strike platforms - manned or unmanned — set to emerge over the next two decades. The company aims to build on its success as co-developer with General Electric (GE) of the F136 engine for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF).
