Looking back on the Eighth Malaysia Plan covering the period 2000-05, Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak says its force development element has been consistent with policy objectives laid out when he first held the defence portfolio in the early 1990s.
