The US Army is expected to make key decisions later this year about a number of aspects of the multi-billion-dollar Future Combat Systems (FCS) programme. These include whether the FCS will be wheeled or tracked and have a conventional or electric driveline. Most versions are expected to be tracked. However, some versions -such as the Command-and-Control Vehicle (C2V) and the medical treatment and evacuation vehicle -could be wheeled. The Infantry Carrier Vehicle (ICV) will be armed with at least a 30mm cannon, possibly the ATK Gun Systems Company MK44, which the US Marines Corps has already adopted for its Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle. This could be upgraded to 40mm if required.
