Alvis Haegglunds has released details of its third-generation CV9035 Mk Ⅲ infantry fighting vehicle (IFV), which has mainly been developed to meet the operational requirements of the Royal Netherlands Army (RNLA). The first demonstrator Mk Ⅲ ran in 2002 and the first completed prototype the following year. The vehicle will be shown publicly for the first time at Eurosatory 2004. According to Alvis Haegglunds, after extensive company trials development of the Mk Ⅲ is complete and production can begin once orders are placed. The CV9035 Mk Ⅲ boasts significant improvements over its predecessor, the Mk Ⅱ, in the key areas of firepower, protection and mobility.
