In its first year as a private company, the UK's QinetiQ is beating financial targets and may be set for a share float ahead of schedule if the company continues its current strong performance. QinetiQ, the portion of what was the UK Ministry of Defence's (MoD's) Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA) that is moving towards becoming a private company, has posted an 18% leap in profits to ￡94.3 million ($171.7 million) before financials and one-time expenses and a 3% increase in turnover to ￡795.4 million.
