The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) will soon award Bofors Defence a contract to build two system demonstrators of the FH-77BD L52 6 x 6 self-propelled (SP) artillery system. The demonstrators, to be completed next year, will undergo extensive troop trials in 2005. Full-scale development and type qualification will be undertaken from 2006-07 and first production systems are expected to be completed in 2008. Final deliveries are scheduled for 2010. For export, the FH-77BD L52 is called the FH-77 BW L52.
