Insys (previously Hunting Engineering Limited), one of the three UK-based bidders involved in the ￡100 million-plus ($141 million) British Army competition to meet a Future Command and Liaison Vehicle (FCLV) requirement, has finally released details of its tender (Jane's Defence Weekly 6 February). Insys is the overall prime contractor for one of the three teams. It is offering the ACMAT based on the latest production-standard French ACMAT 4x4 cross-country chassis that is in production and in service with some countries. Insys provides the chassis and body and Marshall Specialist Vehicles is responsible for some of the fitting-out. Two vehicles have been built for the UK trials, one left-hand and one right-hand drive. They are undergoing evaluation at the British Army's Armoured Trials and Development Unit (ATDU) at Bovington Camp in southern England.
