Having identified the Boeing 767-400 as the platform of choice for its next-generation Multi-Mission Command and Control Aircraft (MC2A), the US Air Force (USAF) is assessing how to configure the sensors and battle management capabilities of the aircraft. A principal challenge is the extent to which the aircraft can perform simultaneous ground moving-target indication (GMTI) and air moving-target indication (AMTI) missions, both from a technical and operational perspective, said USAF officials.
