BAE Systems, EADS and Finmeccanica inked a long-awaited agreement to merge their missile businesses, officially creating MBDA, which will take the world's number two slot behind the USA's Raytheon. "Right from the start, it creates a world-class player, the world's second largest, solidly established in the global market with the widest available range of products and services," said Fabrice Bregier, who will head MBDA. He added: "We are going to create the Airbus of the missiles business."
