It is with great sadness that Jane's reports the death of our friend and colleague Geoff Fein, who passed away on 13 February at the age of 60. Geoff was well known inside and outside Jane's as a friendly, welcoming, and idealistic person, which is impressive as his journalistic career would have turned most people cynical; he worked as a crime reporter in Los Angeles, as a political reporter covering the Iowa electoral caucuses, and, of course, as a defence reporter covering the Pentagon.
