The US Air Force (USAF) released more munitions on Afghanistan in 2018 than in any other year since at least 2008, according to US Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT). Recently released data shows that USAF aircraft (manned and unmanned) released 7,362 munitions in the Central Asian country between 1 January and 31 December 2018 as part of US Operation 'Freedom's Sentinel': 3,001 more than in 2017. In December 2018 alone the service released 539 munitions: 84 more than in the same period in 2017.
