Switzerland is to evaluate five potential aircraft types to replace its ageing fighter fleets, the country's Armasuisse defence procurement agency announced on 25 January. Bids for the Air 2030 requirement to replace the Swiss Air Force's current F-5E/F Tiger Ⅱ and F/A-18 Hornet fleets have been received from Eurofighter for the Typhoon, Dassault for the Rafale, Boeing for the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, Saab for the Gripen E, and Lockheed Martin for the F-35A Lightning Ⅱ Joint Strike Fighter (JSF).
