South Korea has begun series production of a locally developed automatic command-and-control system, the country's Defence Acquisition Programme Administration (DAPA) announced on 22 January. The move comes after DAPA had awarded Hanwha Systems - the lead company in the programme - a KRW32.9 billion (USD29.1 million) contract in December 2018 to produce an initial 12 'Command, Control, and Alert' (C2A) systems, according to the Yonhap News Agency.
