The Yemeni rebel group Ansar Allah (Houthis) appears to have improved the attack profile of its Qasef exploding unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to turn them into more effective weapons against fixed targets. The group unveiled the original Qasef-1 in February 2017. While it was presented as an indigenous product, UN experts subsequently identified it as an Iranian-made Ababil-2 or Ababil-T, which can be used for reconnaissance or loaded with a 30 kg high-explosive warhead to turn it into a weapon.
