India's Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence has criticised the federal government for providing what it described as an inadequate allocation of funds for the country's long-delayed military modernisation. In six reports tabled in parliament on 7 January the committee censured the Ministry of Finance for repeatedly rejecting the creation of a 'non-lapsable capital fund' for such programmes.
