Spain's northern region of Canta-bria has set up the country's first industrial cluster dedicated to the defence sector. Backed by the regional government's development society (Sociedad para el Desarrollo de Cantabria: Sodercan) and the local chamber of commerce, the cluster, known as CID, initially includes 18 companies and three local universities or colleges.
