The Sikorsky HH-60W Combat Rescue Helicopter (CRH) has been cleared to enter into low-rate initial production (LRIP), with the announcement on 24 September that the US Air Force (USAF) had declared Milestone C for the programme. The announcement followed more than 150 hours of flight tests on four prototype helicopters since the type's maiden flight in May. As noted by Sikorsky, there are currently five HH-60W aircraft in various stages of production at Sikorsky's Stratford facility in Connecticut.
