The US Marine Crops (USMC) has proved it can integrate components of Rafael's Iron Dome air-and missile-defence system into its existing radar and command-and-control infrastructure, according to the service. During a live-fire demonstration in August the USMC examined various options for a medium-range intercept capability, including whether it could net together Northrop Grumman's AN/TPS-80 Ground/ Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ ATOR) and a Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S) with Iron Dome components. The demo "proved" that it is possible to "successfully counter emerging threats", USMC spokesperson Barbara Hamby told Jane's.
