Turkey's Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) tweeted on 12 October that the indigenous Hisar-A low-altitude air-defence missile system developed by Aselsan and Roketsan had destroyed a high-speed aerial target during final testing and that serial production is beginning. In response to arms embargoes imposed on Turkey for its incursion into Syria, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan highlighted to local media on 13 October the success of Turkey's indigenous arms production and of Hisar-A hitting its target.
