United States Forces Korea (USFK) announced on 11 December the return of four US military sites to the South Korean government along with plans to initiate the return of 13 additional ones. In a statement the force said that USFK Deputy Commander Lieutenant General Kenneth S Wilsbach and Director General Ko Yunju from the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Seoul finalised the permanent return of Camps Eagle and Long (Wonju), of parcels of Camp Market (Bupyeong), and of the Shea Range parcel located at Camp Hovey (Dong-ducheon) "back to Korean control".
