India's state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has been granted initial operational clearance (IOC) for its Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), meaning that the company will now begin series production of the single-engined aircraft. Military officials told Jane's that the Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC) in Bangalore granted the IOC for the indigenously developed LUH following rigorous testing.
