Indonesia is preparing to introduce a national strategy to support capability development in technologies related to artificial intelligence (AI). The government said the new strategy will be intended to support sectors including the national defence industry. Bambang Brodjonegoro, Indonesia's minister of research and technology, said in comments published by the state-owned Antara news agency on 24 February that the AI strategy will be launched later this year. The strategy is being drawn up by the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), he said.
