Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has secured a USD350 million special mission aircraft deal "from a major European country", the company announced on 8 June. IAI's Elta Systems subsidiary will execute the agreement, with the deputy general manager of IAI's Airborne Systems and Radars Division, Avishai Izhakian, telling Janes that the signing of the deal during the coronavirus pandemic represented a show of faith in the company and its products. "One of our major customers decided that they needed our capabilities now," he said, declining to provide any further details on the nature of the contract, the identity of the customer, or the capabilities of the special mission aircraft.
