Four companies will compete to replace the Australian Army's Shadow 200 Tactical Unmanned Aerial System (TUAS) through project Land 129 Phase 3, the Department of Defence (DoD) in Canberra announced on 20 March. The shortlisted companies - Insitu Pacific, Leidos Australia, Raytheon Australia, and Textron Systems Australia - were selected through an abbreviated invitation to register (ITR) process, said the DoD. The next phase of the project will focus on a competitive evaluation of more comprehensive tendered solutions from the four companies, prior to progressing the project to government consideration in 2021. The systems proposed by the four contenders were not disclosed.
