摘要

The armies of India and China have deployed additional troops along portions of the 4,057 km-long disputed Line of Actual Control (LoAC) in the Himalayas where their respective border patrols clashed on 5 May, official Indian sources have told Janes. The move comes as the two sides have accused each other in recent days of illegally crossing the LoAC and constructing "illegal defence facilities" along it, which has resulted in the two armies bolstering their presence in the area. Sources in New Delhi told Janes that the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has not only increased its troop numbers in eastern Ladakh at Demchok, Chumar, Daulat Beg Oldi, and the nearby Galwan Valley, but also pitched tents there and started constructing"fortifications".
