Saudi Arabia appears to have opted for an add-on anti-tank missile launcher for its new General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) LAV armoured vehicles, a recently released photograph indicates. Posted on the Arab Defence Forum on 25 May, the photograph showed two new 8×8 LAVs inside a building in an unidentified location. One was clearly armed with the Cockrill 3030 turret fitted with an anti-tank launcher on its right side. Saudi Arabia is the only country known to have ordered this combination of vehicle and turret. John Cockrill (formerly CMI) advertises the anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) system that is used with its Cockrill 3000 modularturret series as the Bayonet 130. Single or twin launchers are available, the latter of which can be attached to a Cockrill 3030, with the laser guidance system mounted above the launcher on the right side of the turret.
