Serbia's second prototype of the PASARS 6x6 self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) test fired indigenously developed 40 mm pre-fragmented ammunition at ground targets on the Miokovci firing range on 9 June, the Serbian Ministry of Defence reported on its website later the same day.Acting Assistant Minister for Materiel Resources Nenad Miloradovic said new Developed for the Serbian Army (KoV), the VS's land component, PASARS is based on the Bofors L/70 40 mm towed gun and uses the chassis of the FAP 6x6 armoured truck.Serbia is currently developing three versions of PASARS armed with a 40 mm gun as well as three different surface-to-air missiles: the RLN-IC/170, a local development of the R-13M air-to-air missile used by Serbian MiG-21 fighters; the MBDA Mistral 3; and a modified Silo (Awl), the Serbian name for the KoV's 9K38 Igla and 9K310 lgla-1 manportable air-defence system.
