The sale of more advanced US military equipment to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is being negotiated in conjunction with its normalisation of relations with Israel, US Department of State spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus has confirmed. "There's a lot of discussions about the various hardware elements and aircraft and other things that are on the table," she told the UAE's official WAM news agency on 26 August. "As it relates to the F-35 or any military hardware, infrastructure, I keep reminding people that it is important to know that the UAE-US military and security relationship is a robust one," she added. "This is not the first instance when the United States has sold military aircraft or hardware, F16s and others, to the UAE."
