The Ukrainian Air Force conducted an exercise on 27 August, practising dispersion and landing on a highway. On 27 August four Su-27 fighters of the 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade based at Ozerne in the Zhytomyr region flew over the M-06 international highway between Kiev andChop.One fighter checked the weather conditions, with two aircraft flying over the highway and another one landing on and taking off from the highway. The section of road was adapted for such landings in Soviet times; there are no curves, potholes, trees, or pillars along the route.
