The US Air Force (USAF) is likely to make major aircraft platform cuts in the next couple of years as it reorganises for near-peer competition against nations such as China or Russia, according to a report from the service's new chief of staff. "Likely future budget pressures will require the most difficult force structure decisions in generations," General Charles Brown said in a 31 August report titled 'Accelerate Change or Lose'. Gen Brown took over as the USAF's top officer on 6 August.
