Compass Precision, which is owned by US private equity firm Main Street Capital Holdings, is on a buying spree for machine shops that make metal parts for aerospace and defence, as well as other sectors. Last year Main Street acquired three such shops - Advanced Machining & Tooling, Quality Products & Machine, and Tri-Tec Industries - and placed them in a new company called Compass Precision. In August 2020 Compass purchased Gray Manufacturing Technologies.
