Senior Pentagon leaders are self-quarantining after Admiral Charles Ray, US Coast Guard (USCG) vice commandant, tested positive for Covid-19, according to USCG and defence officials. Adm Ray tested positive for Covid-19 on 5 October, the USCG said in a statement. US Department of Defence (DoD) spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said on 6 October, "We are aware that Vice Commandant Ray has tested positive for Covid-19 and that he was at the Pentagon last week for meetings with other senior military leaders.... Some meeting attendees included other service chiefs."
