China's People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) has commissioned its final two Jiangdao-class corvettes, bringing the total number of vessels of the class in PLAN service to 72, according to Chinese state-owned media. The final two ships to enter service - both of which are antisubmarine warfare (ASW)-capable Type 056A variants - are Nanyang (pennant number 619) and Shangqiu (618). They were commissioned on 30 January and in early February respectively, although the locations of the ceremonies were not disclosed.
