The United Arab Emirates' (UAE's) new landing ship, which was commissioned into service during the IDEX 2021 show, is armed with a previously unseen type of missile launcher that appears to have been fitted to at least one other vessel. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed alNahyan, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, commissioned Al-Saadiyat (L 72) on 22 February. Photographs and video of the ship showed two of the 12-round launchers are fitted on either side behind the bridge. The ship also has two remote-controlled weapon stations, probably EOS R-400s with 30 mm M230 guns, either side of the bridge.
