The Indian Army (IA) is aiming to acquire an undisclosed number of mobile integrated network terminal (MINT) systems from local vendors. The service despatched a so-called 'project sanction order' (PSO) to 11 selected vendors on 12 March for the development of prototypes. Following a trial and evaluation process of the submitted prototypes, one of the vendors will be shortlisted to manufacture the systems under the 'Buy Indian Indigenously Designed, Developed, and Manufactured' category of the Ministry of Defence's (MoD's) Defence Acquisition Procedure 2020.
