The Royal Thai Army (RTA) is planning to procure a third C295W military transport aircraft from Airbus Defence and Space, the RTA's transportation division said in a recent announcement. According to the RTA, the procurement is valued atTHB1.35 billion (USD44.6 million). The future platform is expected to join the RTA's other C295WS at its Army Aviation Centre in central Lopburi province. The RTA took delivery of its first C295W in 2016 and its second in 2019. The service had previously selected the platform to augment its two Airbus (CASA) C212-300 transport aircraft, which were delivered in 1996.
