Israel Shipyards will supply four Shaldag MK V vessels to the Israeli Navy, the company announced on 7 July. It said the vessels will be adapted to the navy's "unique configuration requirements" but provided no further details about their equipment or when they will be delivered. The MK V usually has a length of 33 m, a displacement of about 95 tonnes, a top speed of more than 40 kt, and a range of 1,000 n miles at 12 kt. It has been exported to Azerbaijan and Senegal, while the Philippines has ordered nine. The Israeli Navy already operates smaller Shaldag MK Ⅲ fast patrol boats acquired in the 2000s and similar Super Dvora Mk Ⅲs made by IAI-Ramta. These are armed with Rafael Typhoon remotely operated weapon stations with 25 mm guns and Spike-MR missiles for attacking shore targets. The significantly larger size of the Shaldag MK Vs will enable them to carry more and/or heavier weapons. Azerbaijan's MK Vs are armed with Spike-ER launchers, while four of the Filipino ones will reportedly be delivered with launchers for the longer-range Spike-NLOS missile.
