The Romanian Ministry of National Defence has confirmed to Janes that it will acquire more than 100 Oshkosh Defense 4×4 Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) for Romanian special forces under a EUR47 million (USD55.5 million) contract. Oshkosh announced on 1 July that Romania was one of the countries for which it had received a USD152 million contract from the US Army Contracting Command -Detroit Arsenal for JLTVs. The Romanian government approved the acquisition of armoured combat vehicles for its special forces in October 2020. Romanian media have reported that 120-130 JLTVs would be ordered and armed with a locally produced remote weapon station.
