Turkish defence company Baykar shared the conceptual design for its MIUS unmanned combat air vehicle (UCAV) in a Twitter post on 20 July. Selcuk Bayraktar, Baykar's technology manager, tweeted that the MIUS will initially operate at a cruising speed close to the speed of sound, adding that "the next prototypes will be supersonic, going above the speed of sound". Bayraktar said the MIUS "will have close to 1.5 tonnes of ammunition and useful load capacity. It will be able to carry air-to-air, air-to-ground smart missiles and cruise missiles". He noted that the company had developed the MIUS project entirely with its own resources. The MIUS UCAV will be able to carry munitions internally to reduce its radar signature, according to Bayraktar. He added there would also be hardpoints under the UCAV's wings for missions where low visibility was not an issue.
