The first of five P-8A Poseidon maritime multimission aircraft (MMAs) for the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF) made its first flight on 9 August from Renton airport to Boeing Field in Seattle on 9 August, Boeing announced in a press release the next day. The flight lasted two hours, 24 minutes, and the aircraft reached a height of 41,000 ft (12,500 m). Mission systems will be installed and additional testing will be conducted before delivery later this year to the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA), which will transfer the aircraft to the RNoAF in early 2022, with the rest to follow through to 2023.
