Spain's Directorate General of Armament and Materiel (DGAM) has awarded Indra a EUR120 million (USD142 million) contract for Lanza 3D air defence radars, the Spanish company announced on 8 September. The company said it would supply the radars, which are designed to detect aircraft including fifth-generation stealth fighters, in their fixed and deployabte versions.The contract also covers the integration of the radars into the Spanish Sistema de Mando y Control Aereo (SIMCA) aerospace surveillance and control system's command -and -control groups, plus logistic support.Spain's Council of Ministers approved the contract for five Lanza radars, including a mobile one, auxiliary systems, and spare parts, on 8 June. The radars wilt replace existing RAT-31SL/T long-range surveillance radars.
