On 1 December, the first 'US-China High-Level Joint Dialogue on Cybercrime and Related Issues' was held in Washington, involving senior security and intelligence officials from both countries. According to a press release issued by the US Department of Justice, bilateral agreement was reached "on establishing guidelines for requesting assistance on cybercrime or other malicious cyber activities and for responding to such requests". The two countries also agreed to an exercise in early 2016 to "increase mutual understanding" about processes and procedures, and to enhance co-operation "on combatting cyber-enabled crimes, including child exploitation, theft of trade secrets, fraud, and misuse of technology and communications for terrorist activities, and to enhance exchanges on network protection".
