The NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCD COE) has seen a huge increase in participant numbers in its latest 'Locked Shields' exercise, as cyber security threats become a growing priority for alliance members. About 900 cyber security experts took part in the latest exercise, which was held at the CCD COE's headquarters in Tallinn, Estonia, in late April. This was a large increase in numbers for the annual event, which had about 500 participants last year, Thomas Svensson, chief security officer at Atsec Information Security and deputy head of the exercise's White Team, which was responsible for the core planning of the exercise, told Jane's.
