The US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has issued a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) as part of its Fast Lightweight Autonomy (FLA) programme. The BAA solicitation is focused on developing software and algorithms to support the FLA programme, the goal of which is to develop and demonstrate the ability to undertake autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations in cluttered environments, independent of direct human control and without reliance on GPS waypoints.
