A US General Accountability Office (GAO) report published on 1 December criticised the US Department of Defense's (DoD's) June 2014 Regional Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) report for only partially addressing the alignment of regional approaches to missile defence. In the opinion of the GAO, the DoD only partially addressed three reporting elements - alignment of regional approaches to missile defence with combatant command integrated priorities, the concept of operations for the European Phased Adaptive Approach (EPAA), and the testing and development of key EPAA elements. It found that essential information regarding the characterisation of the testing and development of EPAA systems was incomplete.
